PC Engine Wrap board replacement

I started to experiment with the Wrap board about a year ago and found it to be excellent embedded system. To my surprise I found out a few months ago that the end of the lifecycle of these boards was fast approaching. In the last few months I have been searching for an alternative. Well I finally found it. It is called alix3a. It looks like a wrap board, it smells like a wrap board. It has better performance than a wrap board. Then it must be a wrap board! Well sure it is. • We are glad to see they fianlly upgraded the CPU. The past 233/266 was just to slow for some applications no matter how lean and mean the OS was.

We are please to have a replacement coming. Did they meantion costs per unit versus the WRAP's boards still on the market?

  • The cost of the wrap board can't be disclosed at this time as the prototype hasn't been built. I understand that they should have something ready by later summer or early fall
